February 10, 2026, 5:30 P.M. at 1st Presbyterian Church, Lake Wales, come enjoy a variety of delicious soups at the annual Empty Bowls Auction, sponsored by the Lake Wales Care Center. Members of our congregation helped paint beautiful, one-of-a-kind bowls for this meaningful fundraiser.

Bid on unique works of art while supporting the Care Center’s food pantry and helping raise awareness of the many empty bowls in our community. Together, we can make a difference.

You are invited to our Open Hearts Dinner on Friday, February 13th, at 5:00 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. Join us as we celebrate community with good food and warm fellowship

The cost for the meal is $7 per person, with seating limited to 40 guests, so be sure to reserve your spot early. Dinner will feature pork tenderloin, a baked potato bar, salad, and a special dessert.

The GeriActives will attend the Lakeland Community Theatre's performance of Jesus Christ Superstar on Friday, February 27th at 7:30 p.m.

The theater has reserved a block of seats for the group under Vicki Iliff's name. You will need to call the box office (M-F from 1-4) at 863/603-7529 to purchase your tickets. Tickets are $28 plus a $2 service fee. Once you’ve purchased your tickets, please let Vicki know you plan to attend. Email Vicki at iliffv1@aol.com. Also, to facilitate carpooling, please let her know if you can be a driver and how many passengers you can take.

The next step in our "Loving our Neighbors" series will focus on Food Insecurity - what is the reality of hunger in our own community? Our planning group is open to volunteers who would be willing to assist in setting things up. We are looking to set a date in January, which will be here before we know it!

Join Steve Knitter for a 12-week Bible study titled “The Journey to Spiritual Maturity.”Together, participants will travel with Moses and the Hebrew people through the Sinai wilderness, exploring how God shaped them after their deliverance from Egypt.

Each week will feature a video highlighting one of the Israelites’ stops along the journey and the spiritual lesson learned there.

The paperback workbook is available from the author’s website for $8. The class will meet beginning on Tuesday, November 11th at 10 AM in Room 103 and will run through December 16th. After a two week break for the holidays, the class will begin meeting again on January 6th and continue until February 17th.

Join the class and learn sign language in a fun and supportive environment! No prior experience needed—everyone is welcome to participate and practice communication through sign.

Carolyn McCullough leads the class every Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Join us Thursdays at 8:45 as the children learn Bible stories and songs to praise the Lord!

The children will be invited to our December 14th service to sign Jesus Loves Me with our signing group
