Care Ministry
Our church has a Visitation Ministry outreach program designed to reach out to our members, families, and friends of the church who are homebound, sick, hospitalized, or unable to attend church on a regular basis.
Our care ministry also sends greeting cards to those who can’t attend church. Our care team also includes the prayer team volunteers.
To request prayer or a home visit, please contact the church office.

Lake Wales Care Center
The Lake Wales Care Center is a faith-based community service organization which demonstrates Christ’s love by building bridges between people in need and people with a desire to serve. Our church is involved in their numerous events and ministries and several of our members volunteer with the Care Center weekly. We have donated blessing bags for the homeless, wrapped presents at Christmastime, and continue to collect food on the first Sunday of each month to contribute to their food pantry.

CHISPA
Several members from our church have volunteered with the CHISPA Project in Honduras to help create school libraries for children who have never before had access to books other than textbooks. The volunteers organized, catalogued, and shelved books. They also painted murals , participated in a school-wide inauguration of the new library, and interacted with the many children eagerly having their first experience with children's books.

Choices Pregnancy Care Program
The Choices Pregnancy Care Program is a Lake Wales Care Center program which provides support to those in the Lake Wales community who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy or working toward better sexual health and relationships. They provide comprehensive services to address those in need. All services are completely confidential and are offered at no cost. Our church supports this vital ministry through the annual Baby Bottle Campaign.

Community Kitchen
The Community Kitchen ministry is a weekly meal ministry sponsored by the Lake Wales care Center. Each Sunday, families or individuals needing a little encouragement and a good meal enjoy a delicious Sunday dinner. Members of the community receive a sit-down meal and groceries, as well as sharing Christian fellowship.
Several churches and family groups alternate weeks providing the meal. Our church participates once each quarter of the year.
Extra hands and friendly hearts are always needed to help serve the meal. For more information, please contact the church office or John and Patti Berry. You will be blessed!

Empty Bowls
Empty Bowls is an annual silent and live auction for hand-painted pottery from a variety of people. Each year, artists, community leaders, staff, volunteers, and others come together to paint objects for Empty Bowls. The funds raised from the auction contribute to Lake Wales Care Center food programs. By attending and purchasing an item, you are directly contributing to combatting food insecurity and providing comfort for neighbors in need throughout the Lake Wales community.
Many of the members of our GeriActives group join together for fun and fellowship to paint their own bowl to make a contribution to the auction which helps fill empty bowls in this community!
-
Food Collection
Each holiday season, members of the congregation fill two food barrels for the Lake Wales Care Center’s annual holiday food drive for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
In addition, we collect food donations for the Care Center’s food pantry on the first Sunday of each month.
